We're seeking dependable Labourers to join our client's team in Cornwall and support a fast-paced renovation project. You'll join a well-respected contractor specializing in high-end home renovations, including complex demolition and reconstruction projects.
What We Offer:
- Salary: $22/hour – Paid weekly.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM -5:00 PM
- Duration: The more skills you bring to the table – the longer the potential work.
What You’ll Do:
- Safely dismantle and remove walls, floors, ceilings, fixtures, and other building components.
- Operate hand and power tools (jackhammers, saws, drills) for demolition work.
- Sort, load, and dispose of debris and recyclable materials according to site protocols.
- Assist with site preparation, shoring, and cleanup before and after demolition.
- Dig trenches, pour concrete, and assist in framing and building structures.
- Perform basic carpentry, painting, and finishing work.
- Read and interpret construction plans and drawings.
- Conduct basic inspections on equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Support skilled trades (carpenters, electricians, plumbers) as needed.
- Recognize and remedy unsafe work practices and situations.
- Comply with all health and safety rules, regulations, and legislation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free worksite.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with clients, coworkers, and other trades.
- Mentor and motivate team members, contributing to a positive work environment.
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum 1–3 years in construction, with demolition experience preferred.
- Proficient with hand and power tools, Able to lift heavy materials and work in physically demanding environments. Basic understanding of construction plans and safety protocols.
- Reliable transportation to travel between job sites. Ability to work a full week with the possibility of overtime. Strong work ethic, punctuality, and commitment to safety.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Working at Heights certification is preferred.
